자랑스런 대한민국 청년, 태권도인 ‘장한범 사범’
【코리아플러스】 성열우 기자= 미국 텍사스주 휴스턴 9590 Jones RD, Suite C, Houston, Texas. 77065에 위치한 Kim's White Tiger Taekwondo(김 백호태권도(관장 김석우/7단) 장한범 사범(5단)의 이야기다.
대한민국 해병대를 전역한 대전출신 장한범 사범은 학창시절 유성생명과학고 태권도부(품새단 주장), 동아대학교 태권도학과를 졸업한 태권도 품새선수 출신으로 현재는 국제사범이다.
장한범 사범은 군대와 대학교 졸업을 동시에 품새선수 생활의 막을 내릴 수밖에 없는 상황이 닥쳐왔다.
무릎 수술과 어깨부상 이후로 앞으로 태권도 말고 다른 기술을 배워야하나 하고 방황하던 와중 TPC 세계태권도평화봉사단을 지원하여 장사범의 인생에서 손꼽히게 잘한 선택이 되었다.
It is the story of Kim's White Tiger Taekwondo (director Kim Seok-woo/7th grader) Jang Han-beom (5th grader) located at 77065 in Houston, Houston, Texas, United States.
Jang Han-beom, a Daejeon native who graduated from the South Korean Marine Corps, graduated from the Taekwondo Department of Yoosung Life Science High School (captain of Poomsedan) and the Taekwondo Department of Dong-A University, and is now an international teacher.
Master Jang Han-beom has no choice but to end his career as a Poomsae player at the same time as graduating from the military and university.
After knee surgery and shoulder injury, he was wandering about whether he should learn other skills than taekwondo in the future, and he supported the TPC World Taekwondo Peace Volunteer Corps, making him one of the best choices in his life.
제22기 동계 러시아 파견, 영어권이 아닌 나라라고 들었지만 기본적인 의사소통조차 안 돼 대화가 전혀 안되었다. 통역이 없어서 힘들겠다고 예상한 만큼 팀원들과 매일 단어를 여러 개 씩 외워 수업을 진행하는 반면 충분한 상의와 팀원 간 역할 분담도 나누고, 할 수 있다는 자신감을 꽉 채워 수업을 했다.
또 다른 수업 시간에는 품새 팀 수업을 맡아 했다. 품새가 전공이기에 품새 지도에는 자신이 있었다. “기본기만 집중해 잡아주면 되겠지”라고 생각했던 것과는 달리 아이들은 잘했다.
The 22nd Winter Dispatch to Russia, I heard it was a country other than English, but I couldn't communicate at all because I couldn't even communicate basicly. As I expected that it would be difficult without an interpreter, I memorized several words every day with my team members, while sharing enough discussions and role sharing between team members and full confidence that I could do it.
In another class, I was in charge of Poomsae team. Poomsae was my major, so I was confident in Poomsae's guidance. Unlike the idea that "just focus on the basics," the children did well.
그러던 어느 날 러시아에서 품새 시합이 개최되어 ‘자유품새’에 도전장을 내밀고자 팀원들과 매일 숙소에 와서 자유품새를 짜고 연습하면서 품새팀 아이들과 대회준비를 열심히 했다.
그렇게 한 달이 지나고 시합에서 금메달을 땄다는 소식을 들었다. 그 때 정말 감동에 기쁨을 지도자로서 처음 느껴본 것 같다.
40일간의 짧지만 보람의 일정을 마치고 한국으로 돌아 가면서 태권도가 나의 길임을 다시 느끼고 되돌아 볼 수 있는 계기가 되었다 던 장한범 사범...
Then one day, a Poomsae competition was held in Russia to challenge the "Free Poomsae," so I came to the accommodation with my team members every day to organize and practice free Poomsae and prepare hard for the competition.
A month later, I heard that I won the gold medal in the match. I think that's the first time I've ever felt a joy as a leader.
When I returned to Korea after 40 days of short but rewarding schedules, Master Jang Han-beom said that Taekwondo was an opportunity to feel and reflect on my path again.
한편, 장한범 사범은 대학선수시절 Korea Open 페어 1위, 계명대 총장기 단체전 3위를 입상한 전적이 있으며, 2020년도에는 월드와이드 스포츠 온라인 오픈 품새대회(2nd Lents Taekwondo Worldwide Sports Onlne Poomsae Open 2020)에 제자들을 출전시켜 개인전 2위(학생이름: Ethan Choudhury), American Taekwondo United(ATU) 개인전 1위(학생이름: Ethan Choudhury)를 차지하는 쾌거를 이뤘다.
Meanwhile, Jang Han-beom won the first place in the Korea Open pair and third place in the Keimyung University team competition. In 2020, he participated in the World Lents Taekwondo Worldwide Sports Onlne Pomsaen Open 2020 and won the second place in the individual competition.
