【Danyang=KoreaPlus】 Reporter Bong Ji Hyun = Dokkaebi Farmer’s Market Celebrates Last Weekend.
Dokkaebi Farmer’s Market once again opened its doors last 23rd April and will draw its closing this weekend 22nd May, with a big smile of success. Dokkaebi Experience Town in Banggok-ri Danyang, with the support from Danyang Urban Regeneration Center, has been coordinating a marketplace for town folks to be able to share and sell their products. With increasing number of visitors to this scenic and quiet town, it is a much-needed effort to provide rural tourism and unique experiences.
First round was initiated in late October 2021 which was a little late in season for farmed products but helped encourage the sellers to try again when more accommodating products are available. Hence the second round started its weekend operation on 23rd April and will be closing with the blast this Sunday, 22nd May.
Putting profits aside, sellers have gained much confidence and encouragement, and are looking forward to the weekend to boast different products to promote.
Dokkaebi Farmer’s Market exhibits seasonal fresh produce, towns’ specialty products, handmade items, as well as various popular street foods which proved to be the most popular among visitors as well as locals. Home baked products such as cookies and pastries peaked much interest and almost every visitor quenched their thirst with Omija slushie, which will make its return during the Danyang Flower Festival this year.
