【Danyang=KoreaPlus】 Reporter Bong Ji Hyun = Banggok-ri, the safest town to live in.
This August of 2022 called for an unexpected heavy rainfall all over Korea proving yet another unprepared debacle of floods, this time in Seoul. With the downfall of massive amounts of rain, several towns and villages in Danyang were also afflicted by the sudden rush of accumulated rain.
During times of such weather, warnings are sent to every individual by the Ministry of Interior and Safety in order to keep every individual out of harm.
Considering the number of places affected, Banggok-ri has experienced a much calmer part of the weather being protected by various mountain ranges. Banggok-ri situated on the mountain prevents water to accumulate, hence avoiding sudden water disaster, and mountains being covered by rocks and dense forestry helps prevent landslides. Also being located next to Gyeongsangbukdo has a huge impact, with weather patterns relying on theirs.
With all these factors, this makes Banggok-ri one of the safest towns to live in.
