【Danyang=KoreaPlusBroadcagting】 Reporter Bong Ji Hyun = Extremely Happy Dokkaebi!
Last 4th October, Dokkaebi Town had an extremely happy outcome from competing in the Happy Town Making Competition. 19 towns from all over Choongbuk province gathered in Goesan for the final stage of judgement. Whole process took almost a whole year, from planning, organizing, beautifying the town, and most importantly, getting happy during the process.
Banggok Dokkaebi Town, managed to achieve all these, as well as fitting in practice times for the final curtain. From the youngest at 11 years of age to the eldest being in the 80s, everyone was able to laugh and enjoy themselves during the process. The addition of a foreign resident, an Australian citizen, left a huge impact on the audience as well as the judges which was believed to have added to the positive scoring.
Due to the timing of the competition during the peak farming season, Dokkaebi participants were able to fit in minimal amounts of supervised practice, but this lack of confidence was not visible during their performance. With the mistake from organizers, from using the wrong version of music and failing to keep time, the end result of their effort showed success.
Dokkaebi Town will receive their prize of 30million won next year, to continue improving their town for all residents as well as visitors. Their plans are already in motion, starting with their first Dokkaebi Festival next month.
