【Danyang=KoreaPlus】 Reporter Bong Ji Hyun = Final wrap-up for Azalea Festival.
Last 4th of June marked the end of 39th SobaekMountain Azalea Festival in Danyang. This year’s festival called for many new visitors enjoying the freedom of travel after a long Covid restriction period, as many young families and elderly groups marched the streets of Danyang. With the help of Mother Nature, days were warm but with enough breeze many were able to enjoy the fun experiences and events held by all booth operators. Dokkaebi once again made its hit with their Omija Slushie to quench the thirst of many during the day with its unique flavor, now a favorite to all those who experienced the burst of taste to their tastebuds.
Dokkaebi also offered a new experience for all ages to try, Natural Insect Repellent, which proved great success, as many stopped to enjoy the scents of different Oils such as Lemongrass, Eucalyptus, Citronella, among many others. Knowing what ingredients are used, made it all parents’ favorite for their little ones to use. With summer around the corner, insect repellents are a must especially for those sensitive to the bites of these critters. Using Natural oils with no harmful additives, many were intrigued of its effectiveness, only to be overwhelmed by the ability to choose their own fragrances for use. Some managed to make extras to use as fragrance sprays!
This years’ experience program was topped off with One-touch pop-up fans to curb the upcoming heat. Children and adults of all ages were able to draw and decorate their own fans with different stencils of Azalea blossoms.
With one extra day added to the yearly festival, it proved a success as this year’s event had added booths and many other entertainments for all ages to enjoy. We are now waiting for the next round of Sobaek Mountain Azalea Festival next year, which will mark the big 40th.
