Mushroom season officially starts on the 1st of September for Banggok. With this in mind, all residents of Banggok in line with National Forest Service are speeding up their preparation for ‘Forest Product Watch’.
The most basic starts with stringing off areas that are to be watched, hoping to keep unregistered individuals from trespassing and collecting forest products such as mushrooms. Signs are placed with the strings to emphasize areas not to be entered.
Town residents and approved mushroom collectors will be equipped with a pictured nametag and town vest to be allowed to collect in the restricted areas.
Once mushroom watch begins, authorized personnels will patrol the town to apprehend and seize any illegal collection.
